“A” Is For A-Frames

I’m often moving through Canmore at a quick pace – in a car, on a bike, passing through on the way to numerous trailheads, or for a quick bite after a day in the mountains.

A recent trip to Canmore had me slow down a little, and included a stay at A Bear and Bison Inn. How nice to stay on the “sunny side” of Canmore, where I discovered some great new patio spaces, bakeries, and terrific views of the Three Sisters.

Just a quick glide down the hill links you to the “Legacy Trail”, a paved bike path that connects Canmore to Banff and has since successfully re-built some sections after the June floods.

The Inn, located on the now infamous Cougar Creek, was also affected by the floods – the water came within five inches of the A-frame structure, but the Inn was very lucky. You can read more about my stay here.

  1. Thanks Paula. I’m looking forward to our visit there. You make it sound very inviting. I somehow missed this post, though I am a faithful follower of betterthansittingathome.
