Most winter weekends, I point the car southwest out of Calgary to the Kootenays or west to the Rockies of Banff/Lake Louise. This winter, I took the opportunity to head north, past Edmonton, to the Slave Lake region. As a novice fisherwoman, I wasn’t sure what I was in for.
Soon enough, I discovered the thrill of catching (and releasing) some beautiful northern pikes.
Here’s my story of the thrill of the catch: http://www.snowseekers.ca/contests/1860/goodbye-city-hello-mr-pike-ice-fishing-fawcett-lake
Northern Alberta windchill? Better than shivering at home.
